Faction Guide

Kurenai

The Kurenai are Broken W ex-slaves who have founded a new home for themselves at Telaar W in Nagrand. They start out as Unfriendly, but reputation will quickly build up as a result of numerous Kurenai quests in Nagrand.

The Kurenai do not offer any faction rewards that are specifically relevant to raiding, but their quartermaster has some interesting goods to sell to those with sufficient reputation. As well as a variety recipes, armour and so on, the Kurenai will provide a range of Talbuk mounts to Exalted players. The Kurenai quartermaster is Trader Narasu AHT, and he can be found at the side of the inn in Telaar.

Gaining Reputation

The Kurenai are unusual in that the same faction tasks continue to gain the same points from Unfriendly all the way to extended. There are numerous quests available in Telaar to build faction (including those on the Wanted posted there). In addition, you can grind reputation in one of two ways:

  • Collect Obsidian Warbeads from the Ogres throughout Nagrand, and hand them in in sets of ten to Warden Iolol AHT in Telaar. These Warbeads can also be used to gain Consortium reputation, so you'll need to consider which group is your highest priority when handing these in.
  • Grind mobs throughout Nagrand. Many of these will give a faction bounty, usually of ten points per kill, all the way to Exalted level. The mobs you need to kill are these:
    • Boulderfist Ogres AHT
(but only those in Northwind Cleft and Southwind Cleft)
    • Murkblood Brutes AHT, Putrifiers AHT and Raiders AHT
(you can also kill Scavengers AHT, but they only yield two points each: you'll find all of these at Sunspring Post W)
    • Warmaul Brutes AHT and Warlocks AHT
      (at Warmaul Hill W)
    • Warmaul Reavers AHT and Shamans AHT
      (found at Laughing Skull Ruins)
