Lower City

Shattrath's Lower City runs a wide arc around the great Terrace of Light. Here you'll find a motley association of refugees, ne'er-do-wells and cutthroats centred around the World's End Tavern. Keep a close eye on your gold as you travel through the Lower City.

As you gain the trust of the denizens of the Lower City, you'll be able to acquire a range of exotic recipes, armour, jewels and weapons (the first of these becomes available at Friendly, but you'll have to reach Revered to acquire anything of much real value). All these items are available from a Broken ^W by the name of Nakodu ^AHTW, who can be found in the far southern part of the slums. (It's probably best not to ask where he got hold of all this loot.)

For a raider, the most important item Nakodu can provide is the Auchenai Key ^AHTW, which unlocks Heroic mode on all the Auchindoun dungeons. Nakodu will want you to pay 10g for this privilege.

Gaining Reputation

The various means of gaining reputation with the Lower City are not clearly documented, and at present it isn't entirely clear which ones are best at which levels. The following options should all increase your Lower City faction, though they will probably not all work for all levels of reputation.

• Complete Lower City quests. These are available from within the Lower City itself, from the Refugee Caravan and Sha'tari Base Camp on the Bone Wastes, and within the entranceways of various Achindoun instances.
• Collect Arakkoa Feathers ^AHT from any of the arakkoa veils around Terokkar Forest. You can hand these in, in batches of thirty, to an arakkoa named Vekax, who you'll find in the far north part of the Lower City.
• Run through any of three of the instances in Auchindoun: specifically, the Auchenai Crypts ^AHTW, the Sethekk Halls ^AHTW, and (especially) the Shadow Labyrinth.
