Scale of the Sands

The Scale of the Sands is an offshoot faction of the Bronze Dragonflight, led by Soridormi ^AHTW, who you'll find in the Caverns of Time. They are related to the Keepers of Time, but separate in terms of faction.

Gaining reputation with the Scale of the Sands is a prerequisite for entry into the Battle of Mount Hyjal timeway, and this is the main motivation for building it up. Unlike all other known reputation requirements, you only need to be Friendly with this faction, not Revered, to access the Mount Hyjal raid.

There are very few other faction rewards, but Hunters, especially, will want to aim for Honored with this faction. At that point you'll gain access to Timeless Arrows ^AHTW and Timeless Shells ^AHT, which add no less than 50dps to your ranged attacks.

Gaining Reputation

The process of gaining reputation with this faction is not yet well understood. There is only one known Scale of the Sands quest at this time:

• The Vials of Eternity ^AHT is a 25-man raid quest from Soridormi herself that requires you to kill Lady Vashj ^W in Serpentshrine Cavern and Kael'thas ^W in The Eye. Even getting into these places requires unlocking most of the end-game content of the Burning Crusade.
