The Sha'tar are those naaru who aid the people of Outland in their battle against the Burning Legion, led by A'dal AHTW in Shattrath City. Their agents in the battle are the Aldor and Scryers, who work together (in theory, at least) to further the plans of the Sha'tar. To see how well this works in practice, head to the inn at Area 52, where you can eavesdrop on a group of Aldor and Scryers trying to organise a mission together.
Like most other major factions in Outland, the Sha'tar will offer a range of weapons, armour and other items to their trusted allies. Alchemists in particular will want to build up reputation here, to acquire the recipe for the curious Alchemist's Stone AHTW, available to those the Sha'tar consider to be Revered.
At Revered, too, the Sha'tar will offer raiders access to the Warpforged Key AHTW, which grants access to the three main wings of Tempest Keep in Heroic mode. This key is vital to progression into the most difficult dungeons in the game.
Gaining Reputation
Because the Aldor and Scryers work closely with the Sha'tar, certain modes of gaining reputation with those factions will also translate to the Sha'tar faction. Specifically, most hand-in quests for either the Aldor or Scryers will also generate 50% of their total reputation value with the Sha'tar.
Neutral to Honored
- Complete quests for the Sha'tar. These are mainly picked up around the Bone Wastes, especially at the Sha'tari Base Camp.
- Turn in Marks or Signets to the Aldor or Scryer collectors. The most effective plan here is to hand in Marks of Kil'jaeden AHT or Firewing Signets AHT until Friendly, then switch to handing in Marks of Sargeras AHTW or Sunfury Signets AHT. Remember, for every point of Sha'tar faction you earn this way, you will also earn 2 points with the Aldor or Scryers.
Honored onwards
- Run through the instance wings of Tempest Keep: the Botanica AHW, the Mechanar AHTW and The Arcatraz AHTW. Remember that the Arcatraz can only be accessed with a Key.
- Turn in Fel Armaments AHT or Arcane Tomes AHT to the Aldor or Scryer collectors. Again, the dual-faction rule works here, so every point of Sha'tar faction you earn this way will gain you another 2 points of Aldor or Scryer reputation.
