March has been slow in SWG and I have been incredibly busy (again *sigh*). I therefore expected "Generations Monthly" to be brief (again *sigh*) this month but have unexpectedly been supplied with two articles from WoW and had the chance to include a short story from SWG: Thank you Aviad, Kzin and Iflassi for your support! April promises to be lively as well: Stay tuned for "Generations Monthly, May-edition"!
First seven US-servers announced in Lord of the Rings Online, GENs choose Elendilmir. No news about European Servers yet. - MilleSabor
[LotRO] Yantilan and Yantilan jr., two of the few GENs who are actually interested in LotRO are going to play on Elendilmir-server. Mille (apparently the only one who has ordered the game in Europe) hasn't had the opportunity to select a server to play on yet. Release Date will be April 24th with the chance to play from April 14th on and transfer one character to live-servers if you pre-ordered.
Karazhan bosses going down, 1 by 1! - Aviad
[WoW] Many of the powerful beings that took over Medivh’s abandoned tower were sure they were safe, that they could exploit the tower’s hidden secrets and use them to seed fear and mayhem in the world. They forgot about one thing: Generations!!!
As Both Blue & Red teams steam-roll through the mystic walls of the ancient tower, once housing the great Guardian Medivh, they are facing mighty undead and ghosts from the past and have to fight many heroes of old.
First fell the "The Huntsman" before us, mighty undead cavalier that never lost a fight, followed by the tower steward "Moroes", once proud servant of the master, who was forced to live the rest of his life in undead form and to take care of ghostly figures of old heroes.
After we had freed Moroes we were met by a being of holy light, the "Maiden of Virtue" stood in our way, trying to protect the inner sanctum of the tower, wielding strong magic unlike anything seen before, but she also went down in the end. As we plunged even deeper into the tower we were kept by a mighty opera house, the only way to advance was to open it and to discover what was hidden behind its curtains.
With a wicked twist of humor we were forced to fight our most beloved old-time fairy-tale-heroes: The big bad wolf that tricked little red riding hood, Dorothy and Toto together with the Crone, and even Romeo and Juliet were a few of the fighters we had to confront before we could keep going on.
After climbing the tower we started to understand how many of the tower’s defenses had been breached, elements of great power made of pure mana had been drawn to the tower’s mystic energies and killing them proved quite a challenge.
Then, without warning, we met our biggest challenge yet: a mighty Golem-sentry called "The Curator", a gigantic guardian that kept the way shut to any intruder, but like the other beings he too could not survive the onslaught of GEN's mighty magicians.
Next was the magnificent library, once the envy of the world. Books which once contained the knowledge of all the world were now infested with many horrific beings. We were battling more mana elements, demons and even cunning ethereals that were on their way to steal the library's many treasures.
Once we reached the top we discovered the "Shade of Aran", the father of Medivh, who was now stuck in limbo, not really alive but not dead either, forced to wander the tower until the end of time, wielding mighty spells and controlling the power of fire/frost and arcane. It took the full focus of GEN's teams to bring him down and release him from his nightmare .
The next Chamber was a huge hall, on the other side a big locked door, and in the middle a big chess board filled with live-sized humans and orcs. It seemed that the only way to open the door was to play a twisted version of chess. Medivh left before he was beaten however. Luckily, lessons in chess are a required course for all GEN-members. :-)
Once past the game of chess, we made it to the "TopMost", the very top of the tower, where we met the demon that took over the tower and was responsible for corrupting it, wielding the power of the nether itself and 2 mean axes he was more than a match for GENs by far. After many attempts we were able to slay the demon and claim his secrets.
The job wasn't done yet as many beasts still wander the tower, many secrets are still hidden and yet something still seems missing. Even though we killed the leader, it feels as if we missed something or someone. A weird chill went through our veins and we heard a mighty roar echoing in the tower... Something is still out there... Waiting for us.......
Gens Druids in Storming Form - KZIN
[WoW]
- Date Line: Tuesday 27th March
- Location: Stratholme Scarlet Side (Strat SS)
Generations druids band together for the first time in a druid only raid to the halls of the undead. Five level 70 druids raged through streets and corridors pulling groups of mobs with barely time to take a breath. Before we knew it we were at the last Boss and seconds later he was dead. Then emboldened by our success and joined by a 6th druid we did the same to Upper Blackrock Spire (UBRS). Thanks to Veleda the healing was spot on, tanking and dps were excellent thanks to Odeyn, Ericemerald and Majin and later in UBRS with Rivas.
The ease of our success has encouraged and raised our expectations so the next target in a months time will be Zul Gurub (ZG). This represents a much tougher target but one that will inevitably fall to the power of Generations massed druids. All druids above level 60 are welcome whether they be mains or alts, there’s much fun to be had so come along and help us demonstrate DRUID POWER.
GEN still growing in SWG - MilleSabor
[SWG] we are glad to update GENs roster in SWG with the following names:
Eline, Lillyth Quatar, Ahz-Neb, Darwishi, Afrem and Shawhn Halen. Welcome or welcome back [delete as applicable]!
GENs high ranking in Galactic Civil War - MilleSabor
[SWG] The following GEN-members are currently recognized as officers in the perpetual war between Imperial forces and the rebel alliance:
- Mille S'Abor, Jedi, General with 0 PvP-kills
- Iflassi Oha, Jedi, General with 81PvP-kills
- Eyevi Quatar, Bounty Hunter, Major with 0 PvP-kills
[SWG] Here I stand...again...in some random star port in the galaxy. Flush from another successful run in space...never as pilot. There'd be no hope for the Rebellion if it had to depend on my piloting skill. I can manage flying between star ports without denting the paint too much. Turrets are another matter. I love the turrets. Bottom is best! Hmmm...what was the name of that ship? Another Nova Courier...ah but there have been so many. None compare to the Maid, but I haven't been able to hook up with the Maid in a long time. Wrong star port...wrong time... Ah, a turret whore...any turret...anywhere...anytime...just to get a shot at killing TIEs.
What's this! Words floating before my eyes???? I know I've been flying to much. Spinning around in a turret, but I'm not dizzy. Too much sun? No, this isn't Tat. There they are again! What does this mean "server reset"? "Get to a safe place and log off"??? What are these strange words? Is this some Jedi mind trick? Wait. I am a Jedi. Are the light saber fumes getting to me?
Arrggghhh!!! Not again! What is this strange message? Is it my former master contacting me from beyond? Is it some strange power that is in control of our galaxy? Everyone is disappearing! Are they seeing these strange words, too? Despite my training my hands begins to shake. I'm in a cold sweat. What does all this mean?
The words are coming more frequently now. The star port is desperately empty...except for those statue-like guys who trade in ships and space parts. (How do they not go crazy? Standing in the same place day in and day out...never moving...only spinning in place...) Isn't that the same couple of locals having the same conversation? I've been in too many star ports to tell anymore. The locals all look the same and they all seem to be in the same places.
According to this strange message floating before me, I have mere seconds before the end. The end of what? What is a "shutdown"? I'm calm now. My training and discipline have returned. I no long sweat and my hands are still again. I place my faith in the Force and welcome the blackness that enfolds me.
"All servers are down. All servers will be back online after testing is completed."
Scandalous abuse of "Generations Monthly" unveiled! - Mille Sabor
[Real Life] Mille S'Abor, leading editor of "Generations Monthly" has been caught redhanded while trying to use GEN's newsletter for his own ends: He sneakily smuggled in a request for a new job-role in real life! "Well, I just wanted to make sure to have grasped any chance to move to the UK at long last and get a job as MCSE [editor's note: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer] there..." he apologizes and continues: "all I ask is that GENs in the UK point me to job-openings if they happen to learn about them...".
GEN-forum - Mille Sabor
[ALL] Please make sure to register at our forum (http://forum.genguild.com) and ask for access (please use one of your ingame-names so that admins are able to recognize you): It is a great place to stay in contact with other GENs (or get acquainted with them - there are some nice guys there even if they play a different game), talk about geeky stuff, upcoming games, books, music or get help with whatever your heart desires. You might even find some useful stuff there such as a table with ingame-abbreviations... Make sure to read our FAQs first!
Breaking News: Sock failed to win lottery AGAIN! - Mille Sabor
[Real Life] Sock, leader of WoW-US, has repeatedly failed in completing the quest "get rich quick and without effort". He therefore asks GEN for support to help him complete this difficult yet rewarding mission: Please support him with whatever you consider appropriate when he purchases the next lot. "Generations Monthly" will monitor his progress closely during the following months.
