It's Generations Monthly's first birthday, being published for the first time a year ago - and what an interesting year it was for GEN! It has been a quiet June however but that was predictable: Gaming is always slow in summer. Summer (or rather the holiday it is usually connected with) is also the reason there most likely won't be an August-edition since yours truly will be away from keyboard for a few weeks.
Pirates of the Burning Sea: Beta Impressions - MilleSabor
[PotBS] GEN has managed to sneak some members into "Pirates of the Burning Sea"-beta: Their initial impression was far from positive however as graphics were not even close to the screenshots that were shown on the official website and gameplay appeared to be slow and repetitive. This has changed dramatically with the current build that was published just a few days ago: Graphics are up to par with current MMORPGs and missions are fun since avatar-combat and hence boarding is in: As soon as you succeed grappling a hostile ship, graphic switches from ship-to-ship engagement to first person perspective (swashbuckling-mode...) and you fight the enemy crew with pistol and sword. Missions and quests reflect that feature so that levelling up is no longer tedious and boring. Economy is overwhelming: Pirates of the Burning Sea has easily one of the most complex crafting-systems ever used in MMORPGs.
Good news for those who already have Sony Online Entertainment's station pass since the game will be published by SOE this autumn.
Sedgehammer first to max out in Lord of the Rings online - MilleSabor
[LotRO] Firefox has achieved a combat level of 50 with his toon Sedgehammer: Congratulations!
Cobacca succeeds Mille as mayor in Star Wars Galaxies - MilleSabor
[SWG] Mille has handed mayor-responsibilities over to Cobacca - a heavy burden since SWG has seen the purge of abandoned houses last month. The houses of players who haven't been active for a year or more were put into their datapad, thus removing them from the environment and leaving a cleaner landscape but also ugly gaps in cities.
Manchester meet-up is looming ahead - MilleSabor
[Real Life] Members of Generations are looking forward to their meeting in Manchester on July 15th. The following members have hinted that they intend to show up (some of them with their significant others and children): Kwambus, Kelera, Mebsuta, Ajax, Firefox, Tornadium, Rakshi and Mille - and we hope there will be more!
[ALL] Please make sure to register at our forum (http://forum.genguild.com) and ask for access (please use one of your ingame-names so that admins are able to recognize you): It is a great place to stay in contact with other GENs (or get acquainted with them - there are some nice guys there even if they play a different game), talk about geeky stuff, upcoming games, books, music or get help with whatever your heart desires. You might even find some useful stuff there such as a table with ingame-abbreviations... Make sure to read our FAQs first!
